016 Year-old holiday meandering

Another solo jam, recorded in the basement in Smithers in late 2010. This one has also changed somewhat, having been shaped into a slightly more song-like structure. Title dedicated to Bob Geldof.

014/015 Manic/Depression

For about a week I owned a cool little battery powered 4-track recorder. I plugged in a guitar and bass through bunch of battery-powered pedals and improvised two songs, then later added some drums. It's not often I record without a plan, and even more infrequent to do so direct, without an amp. I kind of liked the results though. If I was richer/more famous/better I would release this on a 7", so just pretend you're setting your turntable to 45 rpm and enjoy.

013 Solstice Blues (title to change)

Sometimes I jam by myself. I set up the looping gear, pick a couple drum beats, turn off my brain and have at it. Later I edit the results (mostly by removing the parts that repeat for 10 minutes straight), and use the edited track as the basis of a new song. This one was recorded a while ago...on the 2010 winter solstice, to be exact. It has a new title and some lyrics now, but I thought it might be vaguely interesting to compare this to the finished song when it's ready to post.

011 Numbers

Wow, long break, right? Didn't even realize how long it had been, my apologies. To make up for it, here's a song of the post-rock/instrumental rock variety. Enjoy.
